Our trip to check out Seattle

On Friday 30th May Jason and I flew 2 1/2 hours north to Seattle to see our friends Emily and Marc and to check out the area. We left from Long Beach airport at 6.20pm and arrived in Seattle a few hours later. Marc and Emily were there to meet us. We drove around their neighbourhood for a little while so we could see where they lived and to see if we liked it. It's SO GREEN! There are so many trees EVERYWHERE! It was beautiful! We sat up Friday night chatting for a while and then hit the sack so we were full of energy to head into the city of Seattle on Saturday.

After a yummy 'Emily cooked breakfast' we got ready and headed into the city. We had arranged to meet my cousins Hannah and Richard at Pike Place Market and so headed there first so we could look around a bit before we went for lunch.
It was SO cool! Much better than Kempton!

We wondered around for a while and headed to watch the fish throwing. This fish stall is famous for throwing fish. Basically, when someone orders some fish the men and women there shout a bunch of stuff and then they throw the fish across the counter to each other. Its really fun to watch. They had so much fresh fish... Jason's eyes were popping out his head! I had to pull him away before he bought the whole lot!

There were so many fun things on sale in the market, from clothes, to jewelry to flowers... the flowers were my favorite part. They were so beautiful. They seemed to go on forever.

Once we were done walking around inside we had a walk outside because there was a fun festival going on. We heard some cool music and so headed to the stage where we found bands playing and singing. There was one band that was made up of 14 year old girls... it was fun to watch their confidence.

This drumline is the Seattle Seahawks band. They play at every home game. They were wicked and absolutely hilarious!

We also found the first ever STARBUCKS. Jason loved it!
We were going to go in and get a coffee but the line was soooo long, it would've taken us forever to get served. But we did notice their lovely logo... see if you can spot the difference between the one they are using at the moment.
Once we were done wondering around the market we drove over to see the Space Needle. It wasn't that impressive, but it's one of those things you have to go and look at and take a photo of so you can say you have done it!

Saturday night we went out to dinner to this hilarious restaurant that was kind of a BBQ type place. The food was pretty good, but the decor was a little weird as was our waiter!! But we had so much fun laughing and giggling the whole time!

Sunday morning we got up and headed to Vashon Island. It's one of the many islands that are in the Sound. There are tons of islands and canals and lakes formed by the water that comes in from the ocean. We decided that we wanted to go on a cool ferry ride, so we headed over to the island to look around and get some lunch.
Here we are on the 1st ferry ride over to Vashon Island. The ride was about 15 mins but it was still fun.
It was pretty windy... hence the zipped up coat and chilly look on our faces!

The view of the island from the ferry as we got closer.

While we were driving around, we found tons of houses for sale... none of which we could quite afford, but we also saw some deer... many deer... randomly... everywhere! They were in people's front gardens, driveway's... everywhere.

Sunday night we went to Emily's aunt's house for a yummy BBQ. The food was Great as was the company! While we were there eating dinner, I felt an almighty kick in the tummy... the baby was kicking the crap out of me! Jason felt it for the first time... it was so amazing!

This is a coffee shop chain in Seattle... it's called Chicka Latte... the girls who work inside the shop wear only... a BIKINI!! It made the news here in LA because people were getting all mad because they thought it was indecent for the girls to wear just bikini's.
The funniest thing was the whole time we were in Seattle, we were joking about finding one of these places so the boys could get a coffee... then on the way to the airport we found one. Jason and I had to take a photo of it to send to our friends Marc and Emily!

Apparently, it's one of Marc's favorite places to get coffee!
Even though he doesn't drink coffee!
