Whidbey Island Fun

A few days ago, Jason, Kayle, Sue and I got invited to Whidbey Island for the day by our friends.  We got up and headed to the ferry!  Once there, we had a wonderful day just hanging out and relaxing after what has been a very long few weeks after Jason's accident.

Kayle had so much fun playing on the beach and climbing the big tree with her friends.

Our friends took some lovely family photos for us.

4th of July fun and Jason's accident

On July 4th, Kayle and I got to have lots of fun celebrating at the big festival in Snoqualmie Ridge...

... she got to play on the fun bouncy castles...

... and eat lots of yummy treats

After we left the festival, we picked up Jason who was working, and then headed up to our friends house for more fun.  There were lots of us all ready for the fun.  We set up all our fireworks... BBQ'd the meat and got ready to celebrate.

The boys were enjoying the evening...

... and so were the kids!  We got a ready to let off some  fireworks.  We had all the kids set up in chars a good distance from the fireworks.

The little kids got to enjoy some sparklers.

We let off some hot air balloons.

Everything was going well until Jason had a terrible accident.  He was lighting a firework and before he had a chance to move his head, it went off in his eye.  We rushed him to the hospital.  He was then transferred to the West Coast Trauma Center in Seattle.  Once we were there, we had to wait while they looked at his eye.
We were at the hospital all night.  Jason got to sleep on and off.  I sat up all night people watching!  There were so many people in the hospital with terrible injuries.

So many of our friends were so supportive... we got some amazing flowers!

Selling Fireworks

How fun is this... I got to sell fireworks for 4th July...

In England we don't have fireworks stands like we do here in America, so selling fireworks was so fun for me and certainly something I have never done before!
