Tulip Festival here we come... we were excited to spend our 8 year anniversary with our family and friends... we literally, packed into the car and headed North to the Skagit County Tulip Festival.  We picked up, borrowed and shuffled around cars from our friends so that we would have a car that we would all fit into and then headed into Seattle to pick up Chico, Mariah and Sebi.

When we got there, the sun was shining... but unfortunately, only some of the tulips were blooming.  We were about 3 weeks early!  We did manage to see some beautiful tulips and LOTS of daffodils!

We still had tons of fun even though the tulips were blooming!

The kids didn't really care that the tulips weren't in bloom, they were more interested in the muddy puddles!

We walked through the green tulip fields to the beautiful daffodil fields.

Chico had fun hiding in the daffodils!

We left the fields and took a drive around the other fields and then home... stopping to take a photo of this!
How cool is that... we saw a farm called Castle Kayle!
Needless to say, Kayle loved that her name was on a sign!

Next stop... dinner!  We headed to a delicious BBQ restaurant for some serious food!

And fun!

 With family and friends!

Fun in the Flowers

On Friday, we took a walk through the University of Washington grounds to look at the cherry trees that were in blossom.  The kids had the best time running around in the sun, collecting 'treasures' in the form of stones, sticks, petals and flowers!

The kids showing off all their 'treasures'!

Granny had fun with the flowers too!

The fun continues!

Today Granny, Grandad, Kayle and I took a trip the Seattle Children's Museum with our wonderful friends, Mariah and Sebi.  They are here in Seattle while Chico, husband and father, is at a conference, so we are taking advantage of every minute we have together!

The kids had so much fun running around, in and out, through and under all the displays and activities.

The large room FULL of Lego's was a must on our visit to the museum!
Not sure if Grandad or Kayle had the most fun!
Or if Granny had more fun...

Next stop was the Villages of the World.  There were little villages from around the world set up with houses and vehicles.  Kayle and Sebi loved the boat and were on it for about half an hour!

They both really enjoyed the musical instruments from Africa!

Granny had a fun time in the Chinese house.  Her and Kayle were 'cooking rice for dinner'!

The vehicles were really fun to play with!

Kayle found the Japanese telephone and was having a conversation with her 'friend' for ages!
She was so cute to watch!

The Japanses bedroom was fun too!  Kayle jumped straight into the bed and Sebi wanted to take home the Transformers bed linen!

We moved on to the Construction Site!  We constructed a 'house'!  It didn't really look to 'housey' but it was fun wearing the outfit!  We sent a photo to Daddy so he could see Kayle doing his job!

The next stop on our trip was the Grocery Store/ Super Market!  It had tons of little items that the kids could walk around and put into their cart/ trolley.
Then they took their items over to the check out and purchased them!  Kayle LOVED this part.  She is such a helper, that she was in her element walking around picking up all the things she wanted and then buying them!

Last stop... the garden and more dressing up!  If anyone knows Kayle, they know that my sweet girl is a 'costume' kind of girl!  She loves dressing up in any kind of fun outfit!  First she was a butterfly, then a Bumble Bee, then a farmer type adventurer... it was never ending!  She had so much fun!

The Children's Museum was amazing.  Kayle and Sebi had such a fun time... I would love to take them back again some time soon!

Yummy food and OK football

Our big day out begins with... Kayle getting her new 'Big Girl Booster car seat'!  She is big enough and old enough to move up a car seat, so Granny and Grandad wanted to treat her, so on our way into Seattle, we stopped off at Target to get her one.  My motive for getting her seat was that it gave Grandad and I a bit more room in the back of the car!

Our trip into Seattle continued with fun!  We walked along the waterfront and stopped off for lunch at The Crab Pot.  Jason has wanted to eat here since we moved to Seattle, but it's a little more expensive than we are used to so we haven't been, but as a treat for our wedding anniversary, and because Granny and Grandad love seafood, we decided to go!

First order of the day... drinks!  Grandad got a yummy frothy coffee!

Daddy got a yummy beer.

We put in our order and next thing we know, everyone is getting bibs and hammers!

Then the food arrived!
They dumped it right out on the table!
Kayle and I didn't enter into the fun!  We treated ourselves to a burger and fish and chips!

When we were all full up and finished eating, we continued our walk along the water front.  We found this fun little arcade and Kayle loved playing the games, winning tickets and picking prizes!

We took a nice walk through Pikes Place Market too.  I love it up there!  The flowers are so amazing!  We watched a lady make a lovely bunch of flowers... then Jason bought them for me!

Our final stop of the night was to a Seattle Sounders 'soccer' game.  I knew it would be fun because I love football matches, but the atmosphere was amazing and we all had a really great time.  The Sounders Band was really fun to listen to and Kayle had a blast dancing to them before we went into the game.

We had great seats!

We held our scarf up... thank you Amy and Dan for giving us a cool scarf!

We were really lucky with the weather and it only showered for about 10 minutes.
We had a really long but FUN day!
I love that we are doing lots of things that are new to us all!
