Family Time in Northern California

On Saturday we got up early, hit the road and headed to Northern California for a weeks chill out at Jason's parents house with Jesi and her two youngest kids.

Jason drove the whole way because I have been having issues with a dizzy head/ vertigo type feelings.  The journey went pretty quick and we made it there in good time.  We had a few lovely days just hanging out and playing.  The kids dyed some eggs so that they could go on an Easter Egg hunt.

I hid the eggs and off they went!

Then it was time to play on Jonah's new motorbike... Kayle had a great time... but her dad had an even better time!

While we were at Ken and Sue's I didn't feel well at all.  My head spinning/ dizzyness got much worse and I went and got food poisoning!  I called my nurse to ask her what to do and she scheduled me for a brain scan the day after we got home...

 We had a lovely relaxing time....

American Girl Fashion Show

When I was in hospital on Monday, I was lying in bed watching TV and a a news story came on about an American Girl Fashion Show fundraiser that weekend.  After taking Kayle to the American Girl store in New York, she loves the dolls, so Jason and I looked into getting tickets, but they were too expensive.

So... I emailed the organiser and explained our situation hoping that they may be able to give us a discount ticket or two.  Well, next thing I know, I got a return email saying they are giving us 4 FREE TICKETS!

I was so excited to tell Kayle...

So, on Saturday we took Kayle and her friend Lilla to the Hilton in Bellevue for the American Girl Fashion Show!

First stop once we were inside to to the hair salon so the dolls could get their hair done!

Once the dolls had their hair done, it was into the dining area for lunch and the show.  We weren't expecting the amazing table we were given... right at the front, VIP table!

We ate lunch... then the show started!

During the intermission, the girls got to meet Miss Washington.  They were so excited to meet a 'real princess'!

Once the show was over it was time for one more treat!

We took the girls to the American Girl Store so they could pick an outfit for their dolls.  In my mind, I was going to get the girls a matching outfit with their dolls... thought it would be super cute. but they didn't have the size of the outfit Kayle wanted so she got to pick something else... and so... she picks a small horse to go with her big horse that she got in New York!

Last stop was for Ice Cream!

Fun with Friends

About 6 weeks ago, Jason and I were driving to pick up a nice dose of Chemotherapy and I hear about something called the Harlem Shake on the radio... not knowing what it really was, I came home and looked on YouTube.

Oh boy... it was on... I wanted to make on!

I spoke to many friends in passing about the video and everyone was in, so with 2 days notice, we got ourselves organised and produced this!

My friend in England needs our help... she is the same age as me... she has the same cancer as me... 

She is fighting so hard but she is having problems with the cancer stopping her lungs doing their job! She needs to raise money to try a new treatment.
