Last Sunday, our sweet precious girl had an accident. She was running down the corridor at church and tripped when her shoe fell off and hit her head on the corner of the classroom door! She had a pretty good gash so we rushed her to the ER straight away. There was alot of blood!
I managed to hold it together pretty well, despite this being the first time that she has had a terrible accident.
Our friend Sarah drove us to Swedish Hospital and they looked after our girl very well.
As soon as we arrived, the nurses made Kayle feel so comfortable. She let them put some numbing lotion on her cut and then put a bandage on it. Kayle was so brave!
We had to wait about 30 minutes for the numbing lotion to work before they gave Kayle her kiddie anesthetic. They put the liquid up her nose to relax her and to help her not really remember having the stitches.
Within 5 minutes of her having the anesthetic, she was acting like she was drunk. She was so drowsy and just wanted to be cuddled. As soon as she was a little more out of it, they got her ready to be stitched up. The nurses swaddled her so she couldn't move around and then the doctor started stitching. Kayle did such an amazing job. She was so funny the whole time. She kept saying 'What in the World is going on?' and 'I can't feel my arms'. She even said to Sarah 'Sarah, you have 2 eyes'... she was hilarious!
Once she was done getting stitched up, she ended up with with 3 internal stitches and 6 external stitches. She was so brave! I was so proud of her!
Once she got all bandaged up we got to pick her special gift and then we headed home.
She decided that she wanted McDonalds as her special treat for lunch, so we hit the drive through!
We spent the rest of the day relaxing and watching kiddie movies. She was still a little out of it when we got home, but she changed very quickly once the drugs wore off. She was even trying to jump around on the sofa like normal!
The following morning she decided that it was very important to make me a sign for her bathroom to remind me that I couldn't wash her hair. She stuck it up in her bathroom!

I took her into see her doctor a few days later just to make sure that her stitches were OK. She was so proud that all was well and that she got a sticker and a lolly pop!
This whole experience has been a learning one. I am so proud of how brave she has been throughout the whole thing.
