Swanage Sand with Friends

Last weekend, Jason, Kayle and I headed down to Swanage, Dorset with some friends of ours, Rik & Seonaid. We drove down Friday night and hung out there till Sunday afternoon and did lots of fun things to just relax before things get crazy with surgery here!

Kayle was so excited to go to the beach, so first thing Saturday morning we got up and took her down to the beach to build sand castles. Kayle had lots of fun and even went up another little girl on the beach and made friends with her.

Kayle took a walk towards the water but was a little bit nervous. She was more scared of the seaweed than the water though!
After we were done playing on the beach, we got a snack and then took a walk on the pier to find my grandparents plaques. Kayle found something more fun on the way!
Once we walked the length of the pier, we took a little break on a bench!

Next fun thing to do was to jump on the Steam Train to Corfe Castle! Kayle was so excited to go on the train because she has developed a love for a certain young train named Thomas!

As soon as we arrived in Corfe, we took a short walk to see where my Grandparents used to live and then my sweet little baby fell asleep... so we propped her up on the fence and took a well earned break in the pub!
As soon as Kayle woke up, we jumped on the train back to Swanage and headed to the amusement arcade to waste some time before dinner. Kayle really enjoyed sitting on all the games and playing, but she loved the bowling game best and even won enough tokens to get a prize! She was so excited!

Sunday before we left we decided to head to Lulworth Cove. Jason and Kayle had so much fun looking for fossils and little stones.
Jason and Kayle had lots of fun playing on the beach and in the pebbles! And then, we had fun looking back at the photos and laughing!
We had a wonderful time just relaxing and enjoying ourselves.
It was so nice to just chill out in the warm sunshine.

My Sweet Baby Girl

I think Jason and I are in big trouble... our little lady is quite the Fashion Guru!

I went to the shops the other day to get some new trainers because my feet are sore (another side effect of the chemo!) and my lovely daughter spent ages picking a 'treat'! She initially picked a snorkling set, then changed her mind and picked a new swimsuit...

...but she settled on these wonderful new headbands!

Horses in the Rain!

Last weekend, we had my cousin's children, Bethany & Leah come and stay for the weekend so all the girls could play together.
We had planned a surprise for them all... we took them to see my friends horses!
We got up and drove to Reading to see my bestest buddy from Primary school, Kirsty, and her family. We had a yummy pub lunch before we went over to see the horses.

Bethany is MAD about horses and had a great time brushing Cherry.

Leah had fun brushing Cherry's hair.

The girls did a great job listening to Chloe's instructions while they were around the horses.

The weather wasn't the best, it was raining...
as you can see, Grandad was all wrapped up for the weather!!

Granny, Grandad and Jason decided to go and hide out in Cherry's stable out of the rain!

All the girls got to ride Cherry. Chloe took her out first to warm her up. She is a wonderful rider.
Next it was Bethany's turn! She did great. She trotted a bit too!

Leah was next.
She had fun walking around with Karen, Kirsty's Mum. Karen taught Leah how to do 'Around the World' on her saddle.

Last but not least, was Kayle!
She did really well on Cherry and wasn't too scared! She walked around the field with Karen and was smiling most of the time!

All in all, despite the weather, the girls had a wonderful time! (So did the adults!)
Thank you Kirsty, Chloe, Karen, Chris & Skye!
We had a fantastic time and can't wait to come back... in the Summer!

Feeding the Ducks... Guarding the Baby!

Yesterday, the sun was shining and the sky was blue so, Mum, Kayle & I decided to head to Bushy Park to feed the ducks. We grabbed a loaf of bread and our warm coats and hit the road.

We had lots of fun feeding the ducks and swans, but the geese were a bit scary! I felt like a body guard at one point, because the geese were trying to grab the bread from Kayle's hand and we kept having to 'shoo' them back away from her!

When all the bread was gone, we took a nice walk over to the playground.
On our way to the playground we found a small group of deer.

We had lots of fun in the park on the slides, swings and other toys.

We walked back to the car when the sun started going down... well, actually, Kayle chased Granny back to the car with a big stick whilst playing Hide N Seek!
We had a lovely afternoon at the park!

Urban Farm... Here we come!

Jason and I got up on Saturday and decided to take Kayle to the Hounslow Urban Farm as a surprise. She loves animals and we thought we would make the most of both, the nice weather and me feeling good. We got the bus there, which is also really fun for Kayle.

First stop... the sheep!
There were lots of new lambs at the farm that were calling their Mum's. Kayle had fun coping them!

Next... the Alpacas!
They were so soft. Kayle had lots of fun touching them and they, in turn, had fun touching her!

There were these cool tractors that the kids could ride, but unfortunately, Kayle's legs weren't quite long enough to reach the pedals, so I had some fun pushing her around.

We then walked over to the rest of the animals.
We saw more alpacas, ponies, sheep, ducks, rabbits and this huge goat!

Next stop... the playground!
We got to play on the slides and tractor climbing frames.

Our last stop... these crazy ugly pigs!

We had a really fun day out together. We ended up riding the train to Twickenham for lunch.
Needless to say, we all napped very well that afternoon!

Cancer Update

Although most of you have managed to find my Update Cancer Blog, thought I'd just put a quick update on here!

I will be having my 3rd Chemo treatment this afternoon and that will mark half way already! I can't believe how fast it is going... I am so glad to be have way already!

The main lump have shrunk. It started at 30mm and after the first treatment went to 27mm and after the second treatment went to 21mm! I'm having an ultrasound next week to get a formal measurement and analysis.

I am feeling really good about things and am finding myself excited about each treatment. I have to admit, I am not looking forward to the surgery in May!

Very First Haircut

After some thought, I decided to give Kayle a quick haircut last night as her hair has grown so fast, it's become quick an issue when we have to brush it!

So, straight out the bath, whist sitting on Granny's lap, we gave it a trim.

She looks like such a big girl now! My little baby is no longer little!
