Vacation Bible School

I was in charge of Vacation Bible School this year... it was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had!  I got to organise things from the very beginning.. the decorations, the groups, the activity co-ordination... everything!  I had so much fun doing it and was so blessed to get to know so many new people.

My friend Carrie worked on the AMAZING set!

This is our fantastic cast for the play!

Every morning first thing, we would sing songs... the kids had so much fun getting into the groove and dancing and singing away! We had about 160 children!

The adults had a pretty good time too!

We spent the 3 months building up to VBS making decorations for the whole church... here are some!

This was Kayle's first VBS... she had a great time!  She got to do so many fun activities with her friends, and she got to learn lot sof new things.

At the end of the week, my staff gave me 3 AMAZING gifts!
They secretly made me 3 Care Bears... I love Care Bears!

The whole experience was just wonderful and I can't wait till next year!

Giddy Up Horsey

Since I found out that my Cancer had come back, I have been doing things that I have always wanted to do... I have been 'Making Memories'...  So, yesterday, I got to go horse riding with a wonderful lady from church called Denise.  She was so kind to teach me how to ride and then take me on an amazing 2 hour ride.

I got taught how to saddle up my horse...

... and then exercised him a bit so that his saddle adjusted.

Me in my cool cowgirl hat!

I had such a wonderful time... I can't wait to go again!

So grateful for generous people and friends!
Thank you Denise!!

Whidbey Island Fun

A few days ago, Jason, Kayle, Sue and I got invited to Whidbey Island for the day by our friends.  We got up and headed to the ferry!  Once there, we had a wonderful day just hanging out and relaxing after what has been a very long few weeks after Jason's accident.

Kayle had so much fun playing on the beach and climbing the big tree with her friends.

Our friends took some lovely family photos for us.

4th of July fun and Jason's accident

On July 4th, Kayle and I got to have lots of fun celebrating at the big festival in Snoqualmie Ridge...

... she got to play on the fun bouncy castles...

... and eat lots of yummy treats

After we left the festival, we picked up Jason who was working, and then headed up to our friends house for more fun.  There were lots of us all ready for the fun.  We set up all our fireworks... BBQ'd the meat and got ready to celebrate.

The boys were enjoying the evening...

... and so were the kids!  We got a ready to let off some  fireworks.  We had all the kids set up in chars a good distance from the fireworks.

The little kids got to enjoy some sparklers.

We let off some hot air balloons.

Everything was going well until Jason had a terrible accident.  He was lighting a firework and before he had a chance to move his head, it went off in his eye.  We rushed him to the hospital.  He was then transferred to the West Coast Trauma Center in Seattle.  Once we were there, we had to wait while they looked at his eye.
We were at the hospital all night.  Jason got to sleep on and off.  I sat up all night people watching!  There were so many people in the hospital with terrible injuries.

So many of our friends were so supportive... we got some amazing flowers!

Selling Fireworks

How fun is this... I got to sell fireworks for 4th July...

In England we don't have fireworks stands like we do here in America, so selling fireworks was so fun for me and certainly something I have never done before!

Little Ballerina

Kayle has been taking dance lesson every week and is getting better and better!  It has been a dream of mine to see her dance.  I danced as a child and really wanted her to dance too... thanks to some amazing friends who sponsored her, she got to dance!  After months of practice, she had her first recital on June 9th! She had her dress rehearsal the weekend before and all went well!

All her dance class waiting for rehearsal.

Getting ready for rehearsal!

Kayle did a wonderful job during her show even though she had a raging fever and terrible cold and cough.  We weren't sure that she would even make it because she was asleep all morning before she was due to dance.  My old boss came to watch too and bought her some beautiful pink roses.

When we got home from the recital, Kayle crashed and slept for hours and then woke up, ate dinner and fell straight back to sleep!  Poor baby!

Birthday Band

I got to go to the hospital a few days before my birthday...
When I got there, they made me feel so special... they gave me a cute sticker for my patient wrist band!
it's surprising how much a silly sticker makes you day!
