Camping in February!

Yes, you did read right, we did go
camping in February! A group of us from our church group got together and headed a couple of hours north past LA and went camping at Castaic Lake. We took Blue Thunder with us too so that we could try it out on a lake for the first time.

We pitched our tents in some seriously strong winds and got ready for the weather. Friday night was fun but cooooooooold! We huddled around the fire and had a great time. But when it came to bed time, it was pretty chilly! We did have some extra guests on Friday night that we weren't accounting for... they turned up ate all the chips, made a big mess and then left... not your ideal company... Their names were 'Rodney the Racoon and friends'!

We took Blue Thunder out on the lake all day Saturday and had a blast. Thunder cruises on the lake because there is no wind or currents and it was so much fun! Annie loved cruising on the water, she got really comfortable and chilled on the front of the boat. The boys even got seriously brave and jumped into the water! I can only imagine just how cold the water was!

Saturday night was much warmer because the wind had died down a lot. Daren and Sarah headed home because Sarah was not feeling well, but the rest of us hung out and chatted and giggled. Our extra guests came back but Sean scared Rodney away this time because we decided that they mess they made was unacceptable!

We had a great time and are already planning our next trip camping... but in the warmer weather!

All I can say is.........WOW!

On Saturday 10th February Jason and I took our friends Daren, Sarah and little Annie on 'The Blue Thunder' to see if we could see some whales. Annie was a little nervous at first and a little uncertain about the bumps but she got used to it and even started giggling towards the end of the adventure.

While we were out riding some waves we decided to stop to see if we could see some whales...nothing... so we moved... still nothing... so we decided to head over to the big buoy to look at the seals that chill in the sun on it.

On our way, Jason just happened to notice something in the distance that could be fun to look at...

So, we headed out to see past the Coast Guard who was watching out like big brother to see what we could see see see...

And all that we could see see see, was... a HUGE POD OF DOLPHINS!!!

As you can see from the photos they were so close that Sarah could have touched them if she was quick enough. The photos that you see are taken with a regular camera and NO ZOOM... they were that close... really they were... I promise!!!

Some of them gave us a real show of fine Olympic gymnastics! At one point they were jumping over the front of the boat and caused a huge splash that soaked Daren!

It was the best time we have had so far on the boat...

Jonah's first boat ride.

We took Jesi, Ryan and Jonah out on 'Blue Thunder' to test to see how Jonah reacted to the bouncing and banging about...

He loved it! At first he was a little uncomfortable in his life jacket but once he got used to it he was fine.

AS you can see from the photos, his
mummy had no problems enjoying herself!!

Our new toy

Please help me in welcoming a new addition to the Kyser household...

'The Blue Thunder'

It was an absolute bargain and we love it to pieces. We have been out all the time and love spending time on it.

It does need some cosmetic work but nothing that will cost us a ton of money!

Stanley's first Christmas

A typical Morris Christmas consists of lots of pressies, lots of food and lots of beer and wine!!

This year was no different... they were celebrating Stanley's first Christmas!

It was a strange Christmas because it was the first Christmas without Nanny... Mum and dad had a quiet Christmas day but then had the whole 'Morris' family over on Boxing day for fun fun fun!

I'm sure that Mum and Dad spoiled Stanley rotten!
